Vice Chairman

District Three - Brunswick, Pittstown and Schaghticoke

walshTom Walsh has spent decades serving residents of Rensselaer County, as a member of the National Guard, as Brunswick supervisor and now, as a member of the County Legislature. Tom has focused on strengthening public safety services in the county and ensuring fiscal stability.

During Tom's service as Brunswick supervisor in the 1990s, Tom erased a deficit he inherited and got town finances back into the black, creating a surplus. Tom then was elected to the County Legislature, and has supported projects to help emergency services agencies protect county residents and to secure state and federal grant money for public safety projects.

Tom has also drawn on his nearly thirty years of service with the National Guard to ensure county veterans receive adequate care and attention. When New York State ordered the county to construct an expansion to the county jail, Tom used his experience as a former director of manufacturing at the Watervliet Arsenal to keep costs on the project reasonable.

Born and raised in the county, Tom and his wife Diane have many friends and family throughout the legislative district.
