District Two – North Greenbush, East Greenbush and Poestenkill

DESSOwebLou Desso considers public service a privilege, and has earned a reputation for fairness, effectiveness and a bipartisan style of governing during his service on the North Greenbush Town Board.

As a town Councilman, Lou supported a 2009 town budget that did not raise taxes, continued a careful expansion of the tax base to provide future relief to taxpayers and used a conservative fiscal approach when reviewing and voting on Town expenditures. As chairman of the Town's Youth Committee Lou facilitated major improvements to the Town Park, assisted with reorganizing the summer camp program, and helped to restructure and revitalize the youth center.

web_loudessoAs a former vice president and principal of Clinical Services and Consultation out-patient substance abuse programs and Adventure Place Daycare Center, Lou brings a wealth of business experience with him to the County Legislature. Currently he is an administrator with St. Peter's Healthcare and is active in the community, including service at St. Jude's parish, the North Greenbush Kiwanis club, and Knights of Columbus.

Lou and his wife Deb are proud to have raised their family, including son Jon, a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and daughter Jamie, a Russell Sage graduate and local teacher, in District Two, where the Dessos have many longtime friends and family.
