Vice Chairman

District Three - Brunswick, Pittstown and Schaghticoke

salisburyRichard Salisbury has put his years of budget and fiscal management experience to work for Rensselaer County taxpayers. As chairman of the Legislature's Finance Committee, Rich steered the 2009 county budget that did not raise property taxes to approval and saw an upgrade in the county's credit rating in 2008.

Rich has also been one of the most vocal critics of unfunded state and federal mandates, which force millions in new costs on local budgets and taxpayers. He has also helped generate savings in the operations of the county legislative offices by reducing the number of employees and overall spending.

Years of private sector management service give Rich invaluable experience. He works today as comptroller of Quality Retail Systems, and also served as Schaghticoke supervisor and councilman.

Rich has joined in efforts to protect farmland and open space in the county. He resides in Schaghticoke and has many friends and family throughout the legislative district.
