District Six - Rensselaer
When the people of Rensselaer call, Mike Stammel is there. Mike has earned a reputation for responding to the needs of city residents during his service as a legislator and prior work as a member of the Common Council. As legislator, Mike has worked to protect quality of life, help job creation efforts, and funding for programs for youths, seniors and veterans.
Rensselaer has received a fair share of sales tax revenues thanks in part to Mike's efforts. Mike has also supported economic revitalization projects in the city while also working to protect quality of life and the environment.
Mike has helped city youths for decades, serving as a member of the Boys and Girls Club in the city, and as a coach and instructor with different youth baseball and football teams.
Mike has decades of volunteer work with the city fire department and Rensselaer Volunteer Ambulance. After years of answering emergency calls and helping save the lives of city residents, Mike was chosen as assistant fire chief.
